MSMPER300 focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to control work operations effectively, ensuring the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and the work environment.

What does it cover?

  • Introduction to Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations:
    • Overview of relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
    • Responsibilities of duty holders, including employers, employees, and other parties.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:
    • Techniques for identifying hazards in the workplace.
    • Methods for assessing and evaluating risks associated with work operations.
  • Risk Control Measures:
    • Strategies for controlling and minimizing risks, including elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Implementing hierarchy of controls to effectively manage risks.
  • Safe Work Procedures:
    • Developing and documenting safe work procedures for specific tasks or activities.
    • Communicating and enforcing safety procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Monitoring and Reviewing Work Operations:
    • Conducting regular inspections and audits to monitor work operations.
    • Reviewing incident reports and near misses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Incident Response and Emergency Procedures:
    • Procedures for responding to incidents, accidents, and emergencies in the workplace.
    • First aid requirements and emergency evacuation procedures.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    This unit applies to those working in operational roles across various industries, including construction, mining, and utilities.

    The total duration of Issue Work Permit is a comprehensive one day (8 hours) of face-to-face training including both theory and practical components.

    Issue Work Permit is delivered face to face, blended or on-site by experienced trainers with relevant industry experience either at of our training centres located in:

    MSMPER300 – Control Work Operations to Minimize Risk.

    No formal pre-requisites required. However, participants should have basic literacy and numeracy skills.

    Participants should possess basic language, literacy, and numeracy skills to ensure they can comprehend training materials and instructions effectively.

    Participants will be assessed through:

      • Theory Assessment: Multiple-choice and short answer questions covering the key concepts of the course.
      • Practical Assessment: Demonstration of skills including hazard identification, use of PPE, and emergency response.

    Upon successful completion of the course and assessment requirements, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for MSMPER300 – Control Work Operations to Minimize Risk.
